A few years ago when I was in high school, I discovered a youtuber called Kel Lauren. They were a graphic design student at the time and made videos redesigning already existing brands and even making up their own to create logos. Their videos inspired me a lot at the time that I decided to take a graphic design class that year!
I’ve been making art my whole life and was already pretty deep into it at that time but I had never given graphic design much thought until I saw Kel Laurens videos and took that class. It ended up pretty much changing my life. I had so much fun learning how to use illustrator and photoshop and even had a piece that my teacher encouraged me to enter into a local art contest that won me a silver medal!
Ever since then I knew this was something I wanted to do for a long time and here I am as a student focusing on that exact thing! And it’s all thanks to a youtuber I accidentally stumbled on!
Kel has done some really incredible work over the years that makes them super unique. They mostly do work for music artists and merch which is something I also would love to do. Down below is some of their work found on their website.
