I am working on a large project of creating a magazine in 3 of my classes, all focusing on different parts of the magazine. It’s been in the works since September with the creation of 6 ads, a cover, a table of contents, and a letter from the author. Those are what are basically 100% complete at this point with only the interview spreads and product spread to finish and then the magazine will be done!
The most fun part so far has been creating the ads. I used to not be a fan of making ads just because we are constantly surrounded by them wherever we go but creating them and learning why we make certain choices to catch people’s attention is much more interesting than actually consuming them. I designed an ad for Pacificas Dream Moon perfume, Sparkling ICE, Dior cologne, bath and body works candle, raycon earbuds and Ella + Milo nail oil.
The most recent additions to the magazine as of now has been the table of contents and letter from the author. I really like how the ToC turned out and I think it follows a similar theme and format as the cover that I will continue to use throughout the magazine. The image at the bottom of the ToC is a photo I took from my interview with Kristi Wire, which will be the main article of the magazine.
The cover itself is quite simple but follows a nice hierarchy level of importance. I still have to make a few updates with the last article header being the title of my product spread which I am currently still working on. I really liked the geometric look of the lines outlining the page and stopping/starting at the second i of Intrigue. You will notice that I follow that theme throughout as well.
I am quite happy with how this project is turning out and am very excited to finish it very soon!
